INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INTERN
The Superior Court of California, County of San Joaquin is now accepting applications for a part-time Information Technology (IT) Intern. This role involves performing entry-level IT support tasks, handling helpdesk tickets, and assisting with hardware/software problems under close supervision.

Responsibilities
Performing entry-level professional duties in support of the Information Technology Department
Handling helpdesk tickets
Diagnosing and resolving hardware/software problems for end users
Interacting with staff to address their technical needs
Installing/configuring computers, applications, and related equipment to maintain a productive work environment
Helping onboard new hires
Provisioning Microsoft 365 accounts
Issuing and configuring new phones for staff
Diagnosing/resolving everyday user problems, such as inability to print or connect to the network (on-site or via VPN)
Providing professional entry-level support with direct supervision in Windows and Linux Server Administration
SQL data query and reporting
QA – testing, desktop and network support
Participating in the evaluation and testing of system and network upgrades
Providing support to programmers and server/network administrators
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment with at least 9 semester units or its equivalent in an accredited educational institution leading to a program certificate, associate's, bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field
Some education in programming, database management and technologies like Windows Servers, Linux and Cisco Networking
Ability to take direction well and be motivated self-starters
Open and excited to learn
Good communication skills
Customer service oriented
Ability to learn techniques to best serve clients
Mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer
Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen
Hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 40 pounds, in all cases with the use of proper equipment and/or assistance from other staff
Benefits
Sick: 12 sick days per year with no cap on accumulation.
Vacation: 10 days first year, and progresses up to 25 days based upon length of service
Holidays: Up to 14 paid holidays per year and 3 floating holidays depending on schedule.
Parking: Court pays the actual cost up to $85 per month.
