This role focuses on automation, cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and Linux-based systems, working closely with client engineering and platform teams to design, build, and maintain highly reliable environments across hybrid and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities
Consult on complex software engineering and infrastructure initiatives with broad organizational impact
Design, implement, and automate Linux-based environments across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud platforms
Develop Python automation scripts to streamline system operations, deployments, and maintenance tasks
Create and maintain shell scripts for system-level automation and JVM environment configuration
Build and manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes and OpenShift, including:
Persistent volumes
Cluster configuration
Observability and monitoring tools
Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation
Support and integrate hybrid cloud environments across AWS and Azure
Collaborate strategically with client engineering, platform, and operations teams
Troubleshoot and resolve complex, multi-faceted technical challenges, including those involving new or unprecedented scenarios
Ensure solutions align with organizational standards, security requirements, and compliance policies
Qualification
Required
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting, military experience, or education
Advanced proficiency in Python for automation and scripting
Strong experience with Shell scripting for system-level tasks
Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems and system administration
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift in enterprise environments
Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
Proficiency working in cloud and hybrid environments (AWS and/or Azure)
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex systems and trade-offs
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Preferred
Experience supporting JVM-based environments
Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
Experience in large enterprise or regulated environments
Background in platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps-focused roles
