Responsibilities
Develop and lead the overall supply chain and procurement strategy aligned with company objectives, customer / go to market strategy and growth through M&A
Build and maintain a robust supply chain function, including procurement, planning, logistics, inventory management, and materials management
Partner with the operation and commercial team to identify and execute continuous improvement & cost productivity opportunities across the supply chain to enhance service levels, reduce cost, and mitigate risks
Partner with the commercial team to reduce previously established customer inventory levels
Lead long-term resin sourcing strategies considering global supply trends, pricing volatility, sustainability initiatives, and vendor diversification
Set annual cost productivity improvement targets, measure actual performance, and track how savings flow to the bottom line
Negotiate resin pricing (PET, HDPE, Polypropylene) and commercial terms with key suppliers to ensure competitive advantage and supply security
Establish and manage strategic supplier partnerships that promote cost competitiveness, quality, service, and innovation
Monitor commodity markets, resin index movements, and global supply factors to inform purchasing decisions and pricing models and manage supply risk
Create and enforce procurement procedures, vendor scorecards, and performance metrics
Partner with the engineering services team to identify potential sustainable materials which can be offered to our customers
Work with the operations to identify weaknesses in the local supply chain organization and make recommendations for improvement
Hold annual supply chain meetings
Optimize inventory levels (Raws, WIP, FG) to ensure strong working capital performance without compromising production needs and customer OTIF
Collaborate with Finance to develop accurate forecasts for procurement spending, material costs, and annual operating budget
Negotiate and take part in oversee capital expenditure (CapEx) planning and execution for plant infrastructure, equipment, and technology investments
Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives that improve EBITDA and cash flow
Lead demand planning, production planning, and logistics to ensure efficient and timely delivery to manufacturing sites and customers
Ensure supply chain processes meet safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory standards
Support corporate ERP systems implementation for supply chain workstreams
Manage risk associated with materials supply shortages, transportation disruptions, and supplier issues through contingency planning
Partner closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, New Product Development, and Quality to support new product launches, material trials, and production optimization
Key member of the Executive Leadership Team, serving as the executive voice for supply chain and procurement in executive team leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, and regular board of directors interactions
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing supply chain and procurement team
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
15+ years of progressive supply chain and procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
Deep knowledge of PET, HDPE, and PP resin markets, suppliers, and pricing mechanisms & indices
Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations, cost reduction programs, and working capital optimization
Strong financial acumen and experience managing CapEx projects
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience with ERP systems, supply chain analytics tools, and procurement software
Preferred
Experience in the rigid packaging, plastics, or resin-intensive manufacturing industry strongly preferred
