General Ledger Accountant
Triple Crown Corporation is a trusted name in the Greater Harrisburg area, specializing in Property Management, Construction, Land Development, and Real Estate Services. The GL Accountant will support the company's Construction Division by preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger, among other responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Make all monthly/year-end recurring, allocation and general journal entries
Responsible for monthly and annual reconciliation of general ledger, trial balances, month end WIP/Site and G/L accounts
Enters lot sale cost entries and maintains lot inventory tracking schedules and deposit records
Reviews all non-job general ledger invoices for proper coding
Receives payroll reports from HR to prepares journal entries and records payroll by division
Analyze general ledger accounts and record any adjusting entries
Prepare monthly indirect construction cost reclassification and capitalization journal entries and maintain supporting work papers
Assist Construction Controller in preparation of the company’s annual operating budget and year-end procedure list
Assist the Construction Controller in preparation with year-end paperwork on all balance sheet accounts and some of the profit and loss accounts
Recording cash receipts and reconciling to general ledger
Reviews VISA card account coding for accuracy and posts activity
Review and maintain letter of credit spreadsheet with Executive Assistant
Responsible for printing and distributing checks and processing electronic funds transfers (EFTs) in accordance with company policies and internal controls
Collaborate with the Investment Accountant to verify Notes Payable balances as needed
Prepare monthly financial statements and designs and updates new statements as needed
Prepare PA Use and Sales Tax Report and Federal 1098 and 1099 interest forms
Qualification
Required
Must have a valid Driver's License, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Accounting is required
Minimum of 3 years' experience in general ledger accounting, month-end/year-end closing, and financial statement preparation is required
Highly proficient in computerized accounting systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including, but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint
Highly organized person with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at one time
Approachable and ability to collaborate and converse in a calm and friendly manner
Preferred
Experience in construction and/or land development accounting is preferred but not required
