Development Assistant - temporary part time
The Boys & Girls Club of Worcester is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth development in the Worcester area. They are seeking a Development Assistant to provide administrative and logistical support for fundraising, donor engagement, and resource development activities, working closely with senior leadership.

Responsibilities
Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of mass mailings, including marketing materials, annual reports, appeals, special event invitations, and other development-related communications
Ensure all materials are prepared and mailed by deadlines established by the CEO or Director of Development
Support donor stewardship activities, including preparing donor thank-you communications and follow-up correspondence
Assist with prospect research to identify potential donors, sponsors, and funding opportunities
Assist with grant-writing by conducting research, drafting or editing content as requested, gathering required documentation, and assembling grant proposals
Help track grant deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements
Assist with the planning and implementation of fundraising and stewardship events designed to engage alumni, donors, corporate partners, and media
Support event logistics, including invitations, registration tracking, materials preparation, vendor coordination, and on-site support
Assist with post-event follow-up, including donor acknowledgments and reporting
Assist with scheduling appointments and meetings for the CEO with donors, funders, and key stakeholders
Prepare meeting materials, agendas, and briefing documents as needed
Provide general administrative support to the development function, including filing, correspondence, and recordkeeping
Coordinate with internal departments to gather information, stories, and data for fundraising and communications materials
Qualification
Required
One to two years of training or experience in resource development, fundraising, nonprofit administration, or a related field
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with donor databases preferred
Commitment to addressing inequities and fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and respect in the workplace and community
Demonstrates professionalism at all times
Ability to handle confidential materials, events, and sensitive situations with discretion
Passionate about the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester's mission and impact
Personable, compassionate, and welcoming; ensures all individuals feel respected and heard
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and organizational needs
Highly organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
Willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events or development initiatives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A team player who takes initiative, anticipates needs, and helps resolve challenges proactively
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Possesses a strong moral code and sense of ethics
Preferred
Experience with donor databases preferred
