Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with fellow engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to design, build, and support robust platform solutions
Lead and support on-prem to cloud migrations, including transitioning from Oracle (on-prem) to Azure SQL or PostgreSQL
Analyze existing Oracle schemas, stored procedures, and PL/SQL logic, and redesign how data is stored, accessed, and used in cloud-native systems
Refactor database-centric logic by moving complex stored procedures into Java-based business logic and service layers
Support hybrid environments where Oracle and cloud systems coexist during phased migrations
Ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability throughout migration efforts
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines that enable fast, reliable delivery of high-quality code
Automate deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management of containerized applications
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance to ensure reliability and resilience
Implement proactive monitoring and alerting to detect and prevent outages
Translate complex client requirements into scalable, automated technical solutions
Support secure, compliant, and highly available infrastructure for mission-critical systems
Contribute to peer reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts across the team
Qualification
Required
5+ years of data migration experience
3+ years of backend development experience (Java preferred)
Hands-on experience with Oracle databases, including schemas and stored procedures
Migrating applications and data from on-prem to the cloud experience
Azure SQL and/or PostgreSQL migration experience
Experience operating in highly regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare)
Experience in consulting or client-facing delivery roles
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong self-starter who can manage multiple priorities in fast-moving environments
Preferred
Experience with AWS and Azure
DevOps / platform engineering experience
Experience with Terraform and Kubernetes
Experience working with or supporting data clean room environments
AWS or Azure Professional-level certifications
Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS)
Experience working in Agile development environments
Experience modernizing legacy, database-heavy systems into cloud-native architecture
