Responsibilities
Organize & track files from case documents, making them available & easily accessible to attorneys
Supports case preparation by preparing pleadings & other court documents
Keeps Cases Organized By
Establishing and organizing files
Monitoring calendars & meeting deadlines
Documenting actions
Inputting information into file database
Confirming case status with attorney
Multi-tasking while maintaining highest level of accuracy & attention to detail
Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact; communicating case progress
Ensure compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other applicable regulation
Take payments by phone
Qualification
Required
Legal Assistant or Paralegal degree or certificate
4+ years of relevant experience may substitute for degree or certificate
Knowledge of Small Claims Court
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
Proficient personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Employment eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
As a condition of employment, a pre-employment background check will be conducted
Preferred
Knowledge of FDCPA and related consumer protection laws
