Intranet & Website Administrator (Houston, TX)
OxyChem is seeking an Intranet & Website Administrator to oversee the company’s intranet and external website. This role involves ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and governance of both platforms to ensure they are accurate, secure, and user-friendly while aligning with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary owner and administrator of the company intranet (e.g., SharePoint Online)
Build and maintain intranet pages, hubs, navigation, and content structures
Support departments in publishing news, documents, announcements, and resources
Ensure intranet content is accurate, searchable, and aligned with governance standards
Manage permissions, access, and site security in coordination with IT
Partner with HR, Communications, and department leaders to improve employee engagement and internal communication
Maintain and update the company’s public website using the organization’s CMS
Ensure pages are functional, accessible, and optimized for performance
Monitor uptime, broken links, page load speed, and overall site health
Coordinate with IT or hosting providers to resolve outages or technical issues
Manage SEO, metadata, and analytics reporting
Publish and update content for both the external website and intranet
Maintain consistent branding, formatting, and accessibility standards
Review content for clarity, accuracy, and compliance with company guidelines
Maintain a structured content library and version history
Ensure compliance with privacy, accessibility (WCAG), and legal requirements
Maintain SSL certificates, domain renewals, and intranet governance policies
Track website and intranet performance using analytics tools
Provide regular reports on traffic, engagement, and usage trends
Recommend enhancements to improve user experience, searchability, and content effectiveness
Support internal teams with content publishing, page creation, and intranet best practices
Work closely with Communications, HR, and IT
Coordinate with external vendors or agencies when needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Media/Web Design, Information Science, or a related technical field
Experience managing websites and/or intranets using modern CMS platforms
Strong understanding of SharePoint Online or similar intranet platforms
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web standards
Familiarity with SEO, analytics tools, and accessibility guidelines
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively
Preferred
Knowledge of web hosting fundamentals, including DNS configuration, domain management, SSL certificate management, and experience with cloud hosting platforms
Experience with SharePoint governance, including permissions management and site architecture design
Strong understanding of data privacy regulations, accessibility standards (ADA, WCAG 2.1 AA), and the use of cookie management platforms
Ability to apply Agile methodologies to intranet and website enhancements, such as breaking work into user stories and delivering improvements in iterative sprints
Proven effectiveness collaborating with external agencies using Agile-based workflows—reviewing deliverables, coordinating iteration cycles, and managing approval processes
