Responsibilities
Perform preliminary and final design for steel and concrete highway and pedestrian bridge design, layout and detailing, including preparation of plans, calculations, and construction specifications
Supervision of engineer and CADD work of other team members and coordination of project activities with other disciplines
Complete projects and tasks while meeting quality standards, budget and program expectations through proactive project monitoring and control mechanisms
Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Coordination of bridge inspections and report preparation
Coordination with clients on projects and tasks and development of good working relationships with technical staff on the client side
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from accredited school
5-10 years of experience
IL or IN Professional Engineer license (PE)
Good technical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects
MicroStation proficiency
Working knowledge of structural analysis software
Experience preparing plans for Illinois DOT and/or Illinois Tollway projects and understanding of AASHTO bridge design standards
Preferred
Masters preferred
SE preferred
GeoPak experience a plus
Finite Element Modeling and complex structural design experience a plus
Bridge inspection experience, including 80-hour NHI course, preferred
