Equipment & Tool Engineer (Asset Integration & Sys. Eng.)
The Boeing Company is looking for an Equipment and Tool Engineer in the Berkeley, MO and Hazelwood, MO areas. This role involves analyzing equipment issues, supporting production readiness, and developing tooling concepts to improve equipment reliability and availability.

Responsibilities
Works with site maintenance personnel to analyze equipment issues, minimize repetitive downtime and improve availability
Supports production readiness of critical equipment and strategic replacements
Evaluates spare parts needs for production equipment and recommends stock levels
Provides input for preventative maintenance plans
Assists with the development of basic equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System
Compiles and analyzes technical data for equipment and tooling
Assists with compliance reviews regarding safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements
Supports the tracking of contractual performance milestones, the development of preventative maintenance and spares plans, assists with production readiness planning, and training of Production and Maintenance personnel
Develops and implements basic workarounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation
Assists with the disposition of assets
Qualification
Required
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor), or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
No professional experience required; internship or co-op experience in equipment/tooling, manufacturing, or maintenance is a plus
Fundamental knowledge of mechanical systems, tooling concepts, and manufacturing processes
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and comfort learning shop-floor software
Ability to work on a team, follow direction, and communicate technical information clearly

Relevant work experience supporting equipment, tooling, maintenance, or production engineering
Working knowledge of preventative maintenance concepts, spare parts planning, failure analysis, and basic troubleshooting
Experience with technical documentation and configuration control
Ability to analyze technical data, recommend spares levels, and support production readiness
Proficiency with Excel for data analysis; experience with CMMS or PLM systems preferred
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
Relevant work experience designing or supporting production equipment, tooling, or maintenance engineering
Demonstrated experience implementing preventative maintenance plans, performing root cause analysis, and reducing repetitive downtime
Experience developing equipment/tooling concepts, workarounds, and configuration management of hardware/software
Familiarity with regulatory, reliability, ergonomics, and safety compliance reviews
Strong analytical skills, working knowledge of CMMS/PLM, CAD exposure, and ability to lead cross-functional problem solving
Preferred
Degree in an advanced technical discipline or a related master's degree, ideally Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering
Experience in aerospace manufacturing or complex assembly environments
Hands-on maintenance or craft experience supporting production equipment
Certification(s) such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Lean/Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt
Strong project coordination skills and demonstrated ability to support production readiness and training activities
