Responsibilities
Plan, direct, and adjust transportation strategies in real time based on field conditions, system data, and customer requirements
Exercise independent judgment to prioritize loads, reassign carriers, and modify routing strategies that directly impact job costs and downtime
Manage purchase orders (POs), inventory, and cadence to ensure continuous job flow while preventing over/under supply
Evaluate carrier commitments, enforce performance standards, and make recommendations on carrier partnerships
Analyze operational data (turn times, PO burn, NPT events) and adjust avoid service disruption
Serve as Tier 1 and Tier 2 escalation authority for job-critical decisions, including rerouting, resource allocation, and on-the-fly corrective actions without supervisory approval
Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company-specific safety protocols across all logistics activities
Collaborate with onsite Site Coordinators and customer field teams as a strategic liaison, communicating operational plans and resolving conflicts
Lead post-job reviews by analyzing NPT events, root causes, and performance metrics to influence future operational strategies
Contribute feedback and expertise to software teams for automation, AI training, and continuous process improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
5+ years' experience of high-autonomy experience in logistics, transportation, or operations management
Proven record of exercising independent discretion on decisions that affect financial, safety, and operational outcomes
Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations, safety compliance, and risk mitigation strategies
Ability to analyze operational data and implement strategic changes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Advanced communication skills for liaising with executive leadership, customers, and field teams
