Associate Engineer (Civil), Transmission Line (Hybrid)

The role involves designing and analyzing high voltage electric transmission lines, preparing technical documents, and collaborating with various functional areas within the organization.

Responsibilities
Work with complex systems and equipment, while providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization
Take an active role in design and analysis of high voltage and extra high voltage electric transmission lines
Develop and prepare drawings, specifications, reports and estimates for transmission capital project work, maintenance support and other analyses as needed
Make extensive use of PowerLine Systems software packages including PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole and TOWER; L-Pile; MFAD; EPRI EMF Workstation, MathCAD, AutoCAD and others
Interact with Transmission System Planning, Siting & Permitting, Project Management, Real Estate and other functional areas within the Transmission Business
Cooperate with vendor resources, requiring teamwork and communication skills
Involved with studies and may provide or support testimony with the Connecticut Siting Council, the Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Board and other regulatory agencies for national and regional energy policy
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
0-3 years related experience
Engineering design experience
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
A valid driver's license is required
Preferred
Knowledge of utility power systems
