Jeffco Innovation Lab Intern

Jefferson County's Business Innovation and Technology Division is seeking an Innovation Lab Intern to support their operations. The intern will help facilitate workshops, coordinate planning activities, and assist in transforming county services through innovative initiatives.

Responsibilities

Support and scale Jeffco Innovation Lab programs which currently include: Process Improvement, Change Management, and Human-Centered Design
Co-facilitate trainings and workshops for employees
Develop and provide tools, resources, and platforms to support employee innovation
Provide operational support for internal JIL processes
Coach employees on their innovations by helping them manage change and use metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of their ideas
Partner with county staff on the continuous improvement journey
Enhance the Innovation Team’s brand through online engagement and communications

Required

Great interpersonal and facilitation skills
A knack for data analysis and technology
A desire to facilitate change in government
Interest in pursuing opportunities in government innovation
Interest in the intersection of technology and how organizations deliver high quality services
Familiarity with process improvement, human centered design, and change management
Interest in and experience facilitating events and presentations
Enthusiasm for enhancing employee and community member experiences by delivering thoughtful, service-oriented solutions
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Adaptable as both a supportive team player and leader
Experience taking initiative and showing leadership on a project's direction
Criminal History and MVR Background Checks are required for every position
A valid Colorado driver's license is required for positions that drive on County Business in either a county or personal vehicle within 30-days of hire or beginning to serve as an intern or volunteer
Offer of employment contingent upon successful completion of criminal history, motor vehicle report, education verification, and/or references

Preferred

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Interest/experience in facilitating groups and delivering training
Interest/experience in innovation frameworks and methodologies related to: process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six-Sigma, or Human-centered design

Benefits

Employees are able to earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours.
