New Grad, Entry LevelProvidence is an Engineering and Environmental Consulting Firm seeking an Accountant for a full-time hybrid position. The Accountant will participate in various accounting and reporting tasks, including financial reporting and cash forecasting.

Responsibilities
Owns the preparation of month-end reconciliations and all corresponding reporting
Responsible for completion of monthly closing journal entries
Assist with project accounting duties, including monthly client invoices and accounts receivable collections. May assist in the preparation and review of special invoices for clients
Collaborates with external auditors to facilitate annual financial reviews
Manage year-end functions through the support of external relationships for the preparation and filing of annual tax returns and the review of 1099 filings
Responsible for the preparation and presentation of financial reports for monthly staff meetings
Conducts preparation and review of vendor forms
Assists with annual budgeting
Develops working knowledge of the company’s ERP system and related financial modules; continuously expands system proficiency to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting
Aids Controller on an ad hoc basis
Functions as a backup and/or support for Payroll
May assist with Accounts Payable duties on an as needed basis
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in accounting or other related business degree required
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Exceptional problem-solving skills
Comfortable working with large amounts of data
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft products, including but not limited to: Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required
Must be able to work with sensitive data and maintain confidentiality
Preferred
Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or other Deltek software is a plus
Experience working within an engineering or professional services-based industry is a plus
Advanced knowledge in Excel with proficiency in pivot tables and various lookup functions is preferred
Experience with payroll and payroll tax is preferred
