Event Assistant
Bosselman Enterprises is a company that operates in the food services industry, and they are seeking an Event Assistant to help manage events at their venues. The role involves coordinating activities, overseeing staff, and ensuring successful event execution in the absence of the Event Manager.

Responsibilities
Responsible for entire event management in the absence of the Event Manager including staff, food services, coordination of activities including scheduling, the booking and coordination of Bosselman, vendor and contractor events for the Food Services Division
Assists in responding to inquiries and transforming those inquiries into booked events; initiates sales calls and seeks additional business
Assists in training and education of staff on proper event procedures and responsibilities assigned to their roles in banquet food preparation and dining areas
Assists the Event Manager and General Manager in holding team meetings to provide updates on policy or service changes, and assists in management of team member that occur, defusing situations as quickly as possible
Monitors and negotiates client contracts, completes rental agreements and adjusts when necessary
Oversees banquet room setup, directs staff on where to place table settings, centerpieces, and other table decorations; ensures the banquet room stock is fully supplied at all times, including food; alerts staff when supplies are running low in order replenish from inventory storage
Communicates with the kitchen team ensuring all necessary event information has been provided timely to meet event catering needs
Follows all sanitary laws and regulations, as well as company policies, regarding proper cleaning and safe food handling; ensure all staff follow regulations and dining and banquet areas are clean and organized at all times
Follows all state and federal laws in regards to serving liquor and stops serving patrons as necessary including ensuring guests are over the legal age to be served alcohol
Preps event food as necessary
Maintains good business and community relations
Greets all guests and helps when needed; provides friendly and competent customer service; responds to all guest comments, complaints and questions promptly and respectfully
Assists with the coordination of all maintenance issues to the Events Manager
Works as a bartender and or server at Thunder Road Sports Bar when necessary
Monitors housekeeping and sanitation standards
Compiles special event and holiday recaps
Reports to work in a timely manner when scheduled
Assists in other duties, as assigned
In the absence of the Event Manager, directly supervise two or more employees
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Three to six months of events, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience
Experience in corporate event, event management
Must conduct self professionally and respectfully at all times
Available to work special events, holidays, and weekends
Must be flexible and have good follow-through
Ability to manage an event database confidently (training provided)
Highly capable of working effectively and efficiently in an independent manner, collaboratively as part of a functional team
Exhibits a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and positivity
Must be well organized, detail oriented, able to prioritize multiple projects and requests from a variety of customers
Must be a strong communicator, able to negotiate and resolve conflicts
Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service
Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members
Must be able to communicate in English - IF APPLICABLE
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
The employee is required to stand for long periods; frequently walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear; occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Physical attendance at the primary work location is required
Preferred
Serving or bartending experience preferred but not required
