Responsibilities
Build, route, and terminate low- and high-voltage (14 V DC to 800 V DC) wiring harnesses, connectors, and cable assemblies for propulsion, avionics, and flight-control systems
Fabricate and populate PCBs, breakout boxes, and test fixtures; perform rework and component replacement to IPC-610/620 standards
Install, calibrate, and maintain sensors (current, voltage, temperature, pressure, vibration) and data-acquisition hardware on propulsion test stands and prototype aircraft
Execute continuity, insulation-resistance, and hipot tests; diagnose faults with oscilloscopes, multimeters, CAN bus analyzers, and high-voltage safety equipment
Collaborate with power-electronics, motor-control, and avionics engineers to integrate inverters, converters, and PMSM motor drives into propulsion testbeds
Document build procedures, wiring diagrams, and inspection results
Support environmental, vibration, and EMI/EMC test campaigns; assist with rapid troubleshooting during ground and flight testing
Champion a culture of safety by enforcing lock-out/tag-out, HV PPE, and hazardous-energy control procedures in the lab and hangar
Qualification
Required
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Avionics, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience
3+ years of experience assembling and troubleshooting aerospace, automotive, or industrial electrical systems at voltages above 300 V DC
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings (KiCad, Altium, or similar)
Demonstrated skill in crimping, soldering, harness over-braiding, heat-shrink moulded parts, and connector back-shell termination
Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739, or comparable workmanship standards
Working knowledge of CAN, RS-422/485, and Ethernet wiring practices, shielding, and grounding
Strong organizational skills and the ability to execute tasks independently while meeting tight deadlines
Preferred
Experience with eVTOL or aerospace powertrain development, including DO-160G environmental and EMI/EMC test procedures
Hands-on exposure to inverters, gate-driver circuits, and high-frequency switching layouts
Certification to IPC-J-STD-001 (Space Addendum) or FAA Repairman Certificate for wire harness assembly
Familiarity with HV safety interlocks (HVIL), battery management systems, and contactor control logic
Experience installing and troubleshooting flight-worthy instrumentation (strain gauges, thermocouples, RTDs) and associated DAQ software
Proven track record supporting prototype aircraft or UAV flight-test programs in cross-functional engineering teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to generate clear build logs, discrepancy reports, and red-lined drawings for configuration control
