Oliver James Associates is seeking an experienced Recruitment Consultant to join their Underwriting team. The role focuses on candidate engagement and delivery, managing multiple live positions while collaborating closely with client consultants.
Responsibilities
Source high-caliber candidates through headhunting, referrals, LinkedIn and networking
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of active and passive candidates within your specialism
Proactively engage with market talent to understand their career aspirations and motivations
Develop a strong personal brand within your candidate community
Conduct thorough candidate interviews and assessments to evaluate technical skills, cultural fit, and career motivations
Prepare candidates for client interviews with detailed briefings and coaching
Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process
Build long-term relationships to create advocates and repeat placements
Manage multiple live vacancies simultaneously
Participate in intake meetings with clients and account managers to fully understand role requirements, team dynamics, and hiring priorities
Create and deliver high-quality, tailored shortlists to clients within agreed timeframes
Coordinate interview schedules and manage candidate feedback loops
Negotiate offers and manage the offer-to-onboarding process
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM/ATS system
Track candidate activity, interview outcomes, and placement metrics
Work collaboratively with account managers to ensure seamless client experience
Contribute to weekly pipeline reviews and forecasting meetings
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2 years' experience in candidate sourcing within an agency environment
Experience recruiting for direct-hire positions within a specialist field, ideally professional services
Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Strong candidate attraction and engagement skills
Excellent interviewing and assessment capabilities
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team structure
Resilient, target-driven, and quality-focused
Track record of placements and quality delivery
