Excavation Operator
Fix-It 24/7 is seeking an experienced Excavation Operator to join our growing Colorado team. This role supports residential and light commercial underground sewer and water line projects, including excavation, trenching, pipe replacement, and backfill.

Responsibilities
Perform inspections of underground sewer and water utility systems to identify defects, leaks, blockages, and damage
Diagnose issues and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions
Plan and execute sewer and water line replacement projects, including excavation, pipe removal, and installation
Safely operate excavation equipment such as mini excavators, backhoes, and skid steers
Maintain proper trench depth, trench shielding, and shoring per safety standards
Operate heavy equipment for trenching, excavation, and backfilling
Install, repair, or replace underground pipes, fittings, and related components
Assist in preparing existing lines for CIPP liner installation when applicable
Measure, weigh, and prepare materials required for installation
Reconnect small plumbing fixtures as needed
Prepare job truck and trailer with required tools and materials before each project
Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding the scope of work, timelines, and backfill expectations
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and completed work
Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations
Care for tools, equipment, and company vehicles; report equipment issues promptly
Follow all Fix-It 24/7 safety policies and OSHA regulations
Qualification
Required
3–5+ years of experience in excavation, underground plumbing, or pipe replacement
Experience operating mini excavators, skid steers, trench shields, and shoring systems
Residential and light commercial sewer and water line experience
OSHA 10 certification and Trenching & Shoring training (required or ability to obtain)
Mechanically minded with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to lift and move heavy materials (50+ lbs)
Valid driver's license with clean driving record (CDL a plus)
Willingness to learn specialized underground and liner installation skills
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Preferred
Experience with CIPP lining, CCTV inspection, and hydro-jetting
Experience in sewer drain cleaning
