Responsibilities
Develops and executes bankruptcy processes and procedures in alignment with corporate objectives and risk tolerance, identifying process and technological efficiencies and improvements to enhance quality
Monitors the assigned bankruptcy volumes by overseeing end-to-end bankruptcy case management for Chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13, timeliness of completion of process event steps in ICE Director 7 and LoanSphere FC/BK systems, account reconciliations, and meeting related timelines. Encourages team members to meet internal goals
Acts as the Company’s primary Bankruptcy Department contact and subject matter expert. Partners with all internal servicing departments to ensure cross-functional efficiency and compliance
Leads and mentors Bankruptcy Department senior managers and staff. Monitors and maintains proper staffing levels
Manages and responds to regulatory, internal and state audits, and investor reviews related to bankruptcy loans
Oversees and manages outside bankruptcy counsel’s performance, including remediation if necessary
Reviews and assists in responding to all escalated borrower and trustee inquiries or complaints
Remains knowledgeable of all Bankruptcy investor, state and regulatory guidelines and stays abreast of all critical legislative and jurisdictional changes
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED equivalent required
Minimum of 10 years' experience in bankruptcy default servicing
Extensive knowledge of the bankruptcy process related to mortgage loans and investor, state and regulatory guidelines
Demonstrated leadership qualities
Focus on process improvements and motivating others
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with internal clients across departments and locations
Current, strong working knowledge of Federal bankruptcy processes, BK reconciliations, mortgage loan workout options (i.e. loan modifications, short sales, deed-in-lieu)
Ability to solve problems with a sense of urgency by recognizing opportunities, understanding risk and acting quickly to overcome obstacles and reach a solution
Knowledge of default management guidelines of mortgage investors including FHA, VA, USDA, Freddie, and FNMA
Self-motivated and collaborative team player with critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical and analytical skills
Ability to organize, prioritize, and distribute workload for optimum efficiency
Ability to act and work independently with minimal supervision
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Preferred
Some college experience desired
ICE Director 7 and LoanSphere FC/BK experience preferred
