The Texas Department of Transportation is seeking a Management Analyst to join their Advanced Transportation Planning Office. This role involves conducting complex administrative and policy analysis work to support district leadership in managing transportation projects and funding analysis.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Evaluates statistical data, interprets results and prepares reports on effectiveness of program activities
Monitors, evaluates and makes recommendations concerning accounting activities and contract-related matters
Oversees strategic long- and short-range planning, modeling activities and the evaluation and development of policies
Performs budget-related review, planning and development activities
Provides financial information and recommendations to management
Researches and interprets historical, current and projected data to identify problems, causes and areas where procedural or system changes are indicated
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned
Oversees the analysis of new or proposed legislation or regulations to determine impact on program operations and management
Prepares comprehensive technical records and reports to present, interprets data, identifies alternatives; and makes and justifies recommendations

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Communications or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis
Management Analyst IV: 3 years experience in business analysis, methods analysis, strategic planning, project management or related function
Management Analyst V: 5 years experience in business analysis, methods analysis, strategic planning, project management or related function
Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle

Planning methods, techniques, and strategies
Planning, coordinating and handling multiple projects within area of responsibility to meet short and long-term deadlines

Planning, directing, coordinating and leading the work of others
Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
Standing-prolonged periods of time
Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers
Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
