Lead Terminologist

Management Consulting
Responsibilities
Provide terminology analysis, design, validation, and maintenance for the VA-DoD Federated Interagency Terminology Service (FITS) and VA SNOMED Extension
Resolve defects in the Oracle Health Millennium ESH. Implement terminology best practices to ensure data integrity across the enterprise
Facilitate engagement with HL7 FHIR, LOINC, and SNOMED CT. Manage submissions to ensure VA requirements are integrated into national standards
Manage the NTRT process for Allergy Reactants and Adverse Reactions, ensuring terms are adjudicated and deployed to production on a continuous basis
Qualification
Required
Expert knowledge of SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10-CM, and FHIR
Proficiency in Symedical, MED-RT, and terminology mapping tools
Deep understanding of ONC and CMS regulations regarding clinical terminology
Master's Degree in Nursing or equivalent clinical specialty
10 years in terminology development and implementation
