Senior Manager, SEC Reporting
Oliver James is currently partnered with an established P&C firm seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead its external reporting and SEC compliance function. This role will oversee SEC filings, manage key accounting operations, and supervise a robust team.

Responsibilities
Lead the planning, preparation, review, and coordination of quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K footnotes)
Manage and develop accounting staff, including delegation, oversight, and performance management
Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, expense, property, and cost accounting
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements
Manage account reconciliations and review supporting schedules
Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Support SOX 404 documentation, testing, and compliance efforts
Prepare financial analyses, reports, and metrics for senior management
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency
Ensure compliance with GAAP, STAT, and applicable regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
CPA required
8+ years of financial reporting experience; insurance background a plus
Prior experience managing or supervising accounting professionals
Strong knowledge of GAAP, STAT, and SEC reporting
Experience with general ledger and financial reporting systems
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
