Responsibilities
Provides oversight and leadership to staff engaged in complex computer system support, administration, maintenance and upgrades of computer applications throughout the health system
Performs duties as a project manager for complex computer system implementation, vendor relations and issue resolutions
Ensures the timely communication of work status and identifies application, process and quality improvement opportunities for effective implementations and ongoing support
May perform the duties of positions supervised and other duties as assigned
Leads, manages, coaches and trains a team or department, provides guidance, support, and mentors to ensure optimal performance and productivity
Oversees the recruitment, hiring, team/department orientation, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions including up to termination processes for a team or department
Qualification
Required
Epic Certification training should be attended at the first available class, and certification in the applicable module(s) must be current or obtained within 30 calendar days of completing training
Professional knowledge of areas of responsibility to direct planning and implementation at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or relevant combination of education and experience necessary
5+ years of healthcare/healthcare IS experience necessary
Demonstrated progressively responsible experience supporting complex computer systems required
IS project experience required
Excellent organization, communication, and written skills required
Strong knowledge of healthcare Electronic Medical Records processes is required
Must be able to plan, supervise and establish a professional working environment within areas of responsibility
Must possess the ability to identify problems and implement solutions for operational and organizational issues
Interpersonal skills necessary to direct and assign work to subordinates, explain hospital and department policies and procedures and communicate effectively with other professionals
Preferred
Epic Systems experience strongly preferred
