Quality Control Technician I
Amrize is seeking a Quality Control Technician I to join their team. This role involves performing quality control tests for specific product lines in accordance with established standards and assisting in the implementation of best practices regarding product quality.

Responsibilities
Observe and enforce all Amrize Safety Standards, Advisories, and Policies
Be a responsible advocate for on-the-job safety and the environment
Assist with the development, administration, implementation and documentation of material control plans and related material performance data, procedures and project-specific quality control
Perform some service, repair, and calibration of laboratory and field testing equipment on a timely basis
Carries out regular updates to appropriate Quality Control and Quality Assurance test databases and spreadsheets and provide report summaries or analyses as needed
Able to learn the basic operations of cement, asphalt or aggregate plants
Provide “troubleshooting” guidance and advice, for various customers both internal and external
Technical material performance support and expertise provided for all plants in geographic area
Recommend and assist with plant changes to ensure conformance and consistency
Assist Plant Superintendents and Managers as required
Assist Material Performance personnel in other areas, when available
Work under general / minimal supervision; customarily works 20-30% of the time without direct supervision
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent or at least two years of experience in materials Field of Study Preferred
1-3 years of required work experience
MD DOT Aggregate Technician Certificate or the ability to obtain within 3 months
Mine Safety and Health Administration Certificate (MSHA) or the ability to obtain in 6 months through Amrize training
Two years of post-secondary technical education or equivalent in experience
Availability and willingness to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends to meet customer needs
Reliability
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs over uneven ground for a distance of 300 ft
Dependable attendance
The ability to get along with co-workers at all levels of the organization
The ability to pass the post offer physical examination and pre-employment drug screening
Maintain a plant diary documenting weather conditions, material produced, samples taken, problems, corrective actions and general comments related to quality
Educates customers in proper application of all Amrize products
Job coordinator for on-site quality control work as needed
Assist salesmen, superintendents and managers as required
Customer service with regards to testing and product information
Responsible for own ongoing maintenance, calibration and calibration documentation of testing equipment
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas
Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators
