Responsibilities
Code assessments/interpretation, HAZOP reviews, scope development, design and oversight for piping and ducting for equipment heating, cooling, exhaust, and process chemicals and gasses
Engineering calculations, equipment and component sizing, selection and specification
Support during construction and integration into the factory
P&IDs, layout drawings, details and equipment plans
Interacting with the client, contractors and site personnel
Designing, developing, evaluating and preparing recommendations with basis of design (BOD) and scope of work (SOW) documents
Develop construction and specifications documents through the positional (programming) process with a team
Oversee engineering and construction for the facility mechanical systems work including HVAC, process cooling water, wastewater, general and acid/ammonia exhaust, fire protection, plumbing, process-piping and equipment
Work will include retrofit of existing building systems as well as new systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
10+ years of mechanical facilities design engineering; including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing and related mechanical facilities systems
5+ years of design project delivery processes experience
Solid knowledge and application of the mechanical requirements per ASME and ASME B31.3, building codes, fire codes and other related standards, such as ASHRAE
Solid knowledge in practice and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of mechanical equipment and components
Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications
Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel
