Responsibilities

Supervise a small staff and be a very hands-on, detail-oriented controller for a multi-company, multi-location group of transportation companies
Responsible for control of the general ledger; accurate, timely and efficient monthly closings; account reconciliations; cash management and forecasting; maintenance and improvement of internal controls; non-income tax compliance filings; supervision of payroll, retirement accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable/billing functions
Primary interface with the independent accounting firm that performs the annual financial statement review and prepares the income tax returns
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team is essential, along with the ability to identify areas of overspending and process/efficiency improvement opportunities
Expected to be able to get behind the numbers and analytically identify both positive and negative trends in the underlying data
Ability to establish relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional departments while at the same time recommending courses of action that are not popular and being the contrarian when necessary

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting or business
Minimum of seven (7) years of accounting experience with career progression and supervision in a minimum $50M revenue company
Experience with Tier 2 ERP systems
Experience with multi-location business sites
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team
Ability to identify areas of overspending and process/efficiency improvement opportunities
Ability to analytically identify both positive and negative trends in the underlying data
Ability to establish relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional departments
Ability to recommend courses of action that are not popular and be the contrarian when necessary
