Business Development Manager - Land Development
Metric Geo is a privately held real estate development and engineering firm based in Sugar Land, TX, expanding its division and seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business growth. The role involves building relationships with developers, builders, and public agencies to expand the company’s engineering client base.
Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities for the company’s engineering and design services
Build and maintain relationships with developers, builders, municipalities, and design professionals
Actively network through professional organizations such as GHBA, West Houston Association, ULI, and ACRP
Develop and deliver presentations, proposals, and bids for potential projects
Collaborate with engineering leadership to align proposals and capabilities with client needs
Explore potential opportunities with public agencies and municipalities for engineering contracts and bid work
Qualification
Required
8–10+ years of experience in business development, client relations, or marketing within civil engineering, land development, or related sectors
Strong existing network within Houston's real estate and land development community
Active participation in professional organizations (e.g., WHA, GHBA, ULI, ACRP)
Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills
Proven ability to source, develop, and close new business opportunities
Entrepreneurial mindset and self-driven work ethic
