Responsibilities
Lead and perform technical tasks to support the development and evaluation of algorithm candidates addressing new capabilities
You will be responsible for developing and implementing system updates that best meet changing customer needs for new and existing features, collaborating with team members, and working in a cross-functional agile scrum team
Define, refine, and validate features and sprint stories, ensuring closure criteria are met before completion
Lead and perform technical analysis to evaluate algorithm candidates for new capabilities
Conduct performance analysis, data analysis, and modeling to validate algorithm designs prior to software implementation
Coordinate closely with systems engineers and algorithm developers to ensure technical alignment
Utilize MATLAB, Python, and other modeling tools to prototype and validate algorithm behavior
Interpret and work with legacy code written in Ada to inform analysis and integration efforts
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Active Secret Clearance required, and the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field from an accredited university and 8+ years of related experience (6+ years with a Master's degree; 4+ years with a PhD)
Recent experience in one or more of the following areas: data analysis, performance analysis, or physics/mathematics-based algorithm development
General understanding of any, or all, of the following algorithm domains: track processing, track reporting, discrimination, propagation, and 6D covariance propagation/ prediction
High proficiency in technical problem solving and integrating solutions into a larger system
Knowledge of MATLAB, Python or similar engineering tools used in prototyping algorithms
Experience reading and understanding the Ada programming language
Extensive background in Ballistic Missile Defense, midcourse missile defense, battle management, threat state processing, weapon target assignment
Preferred
Recent experience applying advanced mathematical concepts (Numerical Analysis, Linear Algebra, Probability/Statistics) to complex problems and solutions
Recent and extensive experience developing analysis tools in MATLAB and Python
High comfort level with the Ada programming language
Successful performance of root cause analysis of large complex software systems
High Comfort level using the Atlassian toolset (Jira/Confluence)
