Responsibilities

Coordinates daily clinical cytometry workflow and data interpretation with physicians within the group
Reviews the daily technical systems for assurance of quality and efficiency
Assists laboratory personnel advising of specimen preparation, specimen requirements, test conditions and test procedures to our clients. Consults with staff and clients regarding technical interpretation of daily clinical cytometry cases
Works with QA/QC staff in development and oversight of daily work in the lab
Participates in laboratory research and development projects as needed. Responsible for maintaining continuing education in the area of flow cytometry and the application of the technology in the analysis of various disease conditions
Demonstrates organization skills as indicated by structuring daily workflow, goals, objectives and deadlines to meet company standards and for continuous advancement and improvement of current methods
Stays informed on all company policies and procedures and should demonstrate interest in areas related to laboratory operations

Qualification

Flow CytometryLaboratory instrumentationASCP certificationData analysisProfessional integrityCommunicationDecision-making

Required

Two years
ASCP certification MT or MLT; or special analyst license preferred
Flow Cytometry of bone marrow, blood, tissues, fluids, etc
Knowledge of leukemic disease states
Standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time
Exposure to laboratory chemicals and unfixed tissues
Some lifting of items up to 15 lbs
Some benchwork requiring pipetting (repetitive hand motion)
Ability to visually and audibly perform all essential functions
Excellent communication skills
Strong professional, ethical, and personal integrity
Excellent decision-making abilities
