Responsibilities
Responsible for performing quality assurance testing for the Legal Bill Analysis Center of Excellence (LBACOE)
Audit electronically submitted legal fee and expense invoices from law firms and vendors
Conduct expert peer reviews of invoice analysts’ work using specialized legal expertise
Make adjustments to invoice line item entries and document justifications
Engage in written communications with law firm vendors to resolve disputed invoice adjustments
Support appeals mediation efforts by analyzing legal concepts and drafting summaries for resolution conferences
Provide guidance to business unit partners on LBA process issues or opportunities
Drive results of the LBACOE quality assurance process
Review line item adjustments and non-adjusted invoice lines for quality assurance
Verify compliance with legal billing guidelines
Check the accuracy of UTBMS task codes applied to invoice line items
Make further adjustments to invoice line items based on legal context
Document reasons for adjustments, identifying violated billing guidelines
Make corrections to adjusted and non-adjusted invoice lines
Forward audited invoices through the review chain as required
Organize and address law firm requests for reconsideration
Utilize legal knowledge and judgment to resolve appeals professionally
