Responsibilities
Gain an understanding of current company / intercompany accounting systems and procedures
Assist in resolving accounting issues generated by changing over to a new accounting system after a company merger
Take part in cleanup activities by analyzing misapplied and unapplied cash
Reconcile accounts by working with clients who made payments and collaborating with the internal team to apply cash correctly and match payments to the correct invoice/account
Support collection activities by analyzing outstanding payments and reaching out to customers to make inquiries and collect payments. Bring Accounts Receivable balances back up to date
Use spreadsheets and the systems to obtain and analyze data
Generate various accounting reports and statements
Take part in wiring new desk procedures to be used post-merger with the new systems in place. Take part in continuous improvement activities
Perform general accounting activities as assigned by the Controller
Qualification
Required
Associates Degree (or higher degree) needed
Knowledgeable in GAAP/Debits/Credits
Minimum 4 years of work experience in Accounting with a focus on Accounts Receivable
Strong analysis skills, able to research and reconcile transactions and accounts
Person willing to investigate and resolve account payments and issues
Strong technical skills with MS Office
Good capability with creating, using, and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
Experience with large Accounting systems or ERP Systems
Preferred
Experience with Infor, Solar Eclipse, or Epicor Eclipse software a major plus
Experience working for a distributor or manufacturer in the past is a plus
