Machine Shop Manager - CNC Programmer
Vervic Inc is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead their precision machining and CNC programming operations for critical aerospace and defense manufacturing programs. The role involves overseeing daily shop operations, guiding machinists and programmers, and driving the delivery of high-precision components.

Responsibilities
Lead and support daily shop floor operations, including production scheduling, tooling strategy, and material flow
Inspire, mentor, and manage a team of machinists, CNC programmers, and technical staff with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity
Champion lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance
Develop, review, and refine advanced CNC programs for multi-axis machines using G-code and industry-standard CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, Siemens NX, or similar platforms
Support first-article inspections, prototyping efforts, and full production runs of high-precision aerospace components
Troubleshoot machining processes to optimize accuracy, cycle time, and tool life
Analyze RFQs and engineering drawings to create accurate cost and time estimates
Collaborate with engineering, design, and business development teams to prepare competitive proposals for aerospace, defense, and government clients
Provide technical input to proposal narratives, ensuring manufacturability and production capability are clearly communicated
Track cost, schedule, and performance metrics across multiple active contracts
Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and customer-specific quality requirements
Support audits, customer reviews, and technical briefings as needed
Build strong, professional relationships with government and commercial customers throughout the Huntsville aerospace community
Represent the company during facility tours, technical discussions, and program reviews with DoD and NASA partners
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field
15+ years of experience in aerospace and/or defense manufacturing, including:
10+ years in operations or manufacturing leadership roles
5+ years managing production programs with responsibility for cost, schedule, and performance
Extensive hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, G-code programming, tooling, and production workflows
Proficiency with CAD/CAM systems and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Master's degree in Engineering Management or Business Administration
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
Active or prior security clearance (preferred)
Direct experience supporting NASA or DoD machining requirements
