Responsibilities
Perform clerical and communication functions on assigned nursing unit
Monitor patients for arrhythmias and alert proper personnel as needed
Provide courteous reception on the nursing unit and coordinate activities for patient care
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
Completion of a EKG or Rhythm interpretation course
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
Knowledge of medical terminology
Data entry computer skills
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card from the American Heart Association
AB 508 Certification (if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire
EKG course required
Successful candidate must pass rhythm recognition exam
Preferred
Minimum of one (1) year current experience as a Unit Secretary and Monitor Tech in an acute care preferred
