NorthWestern Energy is seeking an Intern for their Hydro Engineering team. The Hydro Engineer Intern will provide technical support through various assignments, including estimating costs, project management, and drafting in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to the Hydro Engineering team through a variety of assignments in the office and at the hydroelectric dams
Learn about hydroelectric dams and projects while assisting hydro engineering staff with various light engineering tasks
Research, scope, and develop cost estimates for potential future projects
Contribute to a variety of tasks assigned to hydro engineering including the collection of data at the hydroelectric sites
Support drafting work for various ongoing and future projects
Work closely with drafting, engineering and field personnel
Regular use of Word, Access, and Excel
Learn and use Adept drawing repository
Participate in organizational work meetings
Travel up to 10% of the time may be required
Lifting of material up to 35 pounds
Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives

Qualification

Required

Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
Engineering major required; Civil, Electrical or Mechanical preferred
Has successfully completed sophomore year or above
Must be in good academic standing
Must Provide GPA in Resume upon application
Employment Physical: Required
Drug Test: Required
Background Check: Required

Preferred

Drafting experience preferred
Get Into Energy - Energy Industry Fundamental 2.0 certification is a plus
