Responsibilities
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded joints and structural steel components
Ensure that all welding activities are performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications
Verify that all welding equipment is calibrated and maintained in good working condition
Qualification
Required
At least 5 years of experience in structural steel and/or mechanical equipment
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Knowledge of welding processes, welding equipment, and welding safety practices
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Experience performing QA/QC of structural steel fabrication
Ability to use a manlift
Can get out on the iron
Structural steel background
Mechanical equipment background
Skidmore bolt testing experience
Bolt and weld inspection experience
Ability to use an iPad
