Administrative Manager (Financial Institutions Manager)

The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) is responsible for protecting consumers and overseeing financial service providers. They are seeking a Financial Institutions Manager to coordinate administration, licensing, and enforcement related to consumer financial protection laws and manage a team of examiners and analysts.

Responsibilities

Acts as a statewide coordinator for administration, licensing, and enforcement of matters relating to the California Consumer Financial Protection Law (CCFPL) and the Debt Collection Licensing Act (DCLA)
Manages a group of examiners and analysts who assist in the organization, planning, and direction of statewide licensing
Assists in the general administration of the Debt Collection program
Makes recommendations concerning technical and policy matters

Required

One year of experience in California state service performing professional examination duties of a class at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of a Senior Financial Institutions Examiner or Financial Institutions Supervisor
Two years of experience in California state service performing professional auditing or examination duties of a class at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of a Financial Institutions Examiner, Range C
Five years of increasingly responsible professional auditing or examination experience, including three years supervising a staff of accountants, auditors, or examiners. (Experience in California state service applied toward this requirement must include two years performing the duties in a class at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of a Financial Institutions Examiner, Range C.)
Equivalent to graduation from college with a specialization in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, or a related business/management specialization
