Responsibilities

Serve as primary analyst on assigned credits, preparing well-supported rating recommendations and committee materials
Act as a voting member of rating committees, deliberating outcomes and reviewing materials prior to publication
Publish timely credit reports and contribute to research pieces and special projects
Perform financial statement analysis and apply ratings criteria to assess credit quality and identify key credit drivers
Mentor and support junior analysts, helping build consensus across teams with competing priorities
Manage multiple projects and deadlines, coordinating with internal stakeholders and senior leadership as needed
Engage with issuers and investors, conducting meetings and calls to gather information and explain analytical conclusions
Bring analytical curiosity and innovation to develop long-term solutions and improve processes

Required

Education: A bachelor's degree is required; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage
Language: Fluency in French, both written and verbal
Experience: An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have two to five years of extensive experience in public finance, credit analysis, or a closely related field
Technical skills: Strong quantitative analysis skills and a solid understanding of financial reporting and markets
Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Office with aptitude for learning proprietary and emerging digital tools
Mobility: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
Analytical curiosity and integrity with strong problem-solving and research abilities
Clear verbal and written communication for internal and external audiences
Collaboration and mentorship skills to work effectively across teams
Organization and time management to prioritize competing deadlines
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week
We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer

Preferred

Prior experience covering North American public-sector issuers
Familiarity with S&P Ratings criteria and analytical products
Experience contributing to published research or presenting at industry conferences
