HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST
Calcasieu Parish Police Jury is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to perform essential duties in Human Resources functions. The role involves managing the employee life cycle process, assisting with medical concerns, and providing high-level customer service to employees and the public.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Performs complete life cycle process on employee; pre-screens candidates and conducts preliminary interviews, processes hiring documentation and on-boarding, handles active status documentation, and processes inactive documentation and off-boarding of employee
Participates in recruitment of talent through various methods including job fairs. Provides complete and accurate information to candidates about the Parish and positions including job descriptions and departmental information
Assists employees confidentially with all medical needs including Family Medical leave Act (FMLA) requests and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Accommodations
Maintains a variety of procedures, reports and documentation including, but not limited to organizational charts and position allocation reports
Prepares, processes, reviews, and updates a variety of human resources information and/or related documents
Answers routine questions regarding human resources policies, procedures and practices for employees, supervisors, and applicants
Provides high level customer service for all employees, departments, Special Districts, and citizens of Calcasieu Parish
Maintains employee files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement
Human resource principles and practices

Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes
Analytical methods

Event planning practices
Computers and related software applications
Interpreting and applying policies and procedures

Preferred
Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field
