Responsibilities
Build and maintain a trusted, scalable investment data infrastructure to transform complex data into actionable insights for the Employees Retirement System of Texas
Support the development and advancement of the Investment Data Warehouse and portfolio management data applications
Play a key role in implementing data integration strategies aligned with ERS’s investment business operations (Front, Middle, and Back Office)
Participate in the design, development, and integration of investment databases and data pipelines, particularly using Eagle PACE and related modules
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and contribute to ETL solutions for diverse, complex data models
Ensure data quality and integrity through robust data management standards and continuous process improvements
Provide technical support, custom report development, and documentation for system users, including business analysts and investment professionals
Conduct data validation, software maintenance releases, and participate in tool/framework enhancement for ongoing system optimization
Collaborate in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines
Support business process improvements, change management activities, and agency-wide data governance initiatives
Maintain clear communication, effective documentation, and provide exceptional customer service to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Meet all professional expectations, including availability during business hours, timely deliverables, and adherence to ERS workplace standards and protocols
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years in data analysis, data modeling/architecture, and SQL
At least 5 years designing/implementing ETL solutions with multiple data sources
4+ years of experience in Eagle database environments, especially Eagle PACE
Experience in financial services, investment accounting, and data warehousing concepts
Hands-on with technologies such as Crystal Reports, .Net, MS SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access/Excel, FIX, SWIFT, XML, Eagle ML
Strong communication, collaboration, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)
Preferred
Public sector/state client experience
Familiarity with accounting/reconciliation procedures
Experience with Agile, DevOps/DataOps methodologies, and Eagle STAR/PACE upgrades
