Responsibilities

Provide end-to-end ownership of high-rate avionics production line design, bring-up, operations, and improvements
Perform hands-on design for manufacturability engineering as part of the product development cycle and act as primary liaison between the design and production teams
Responsible for avionics part manufacturability and introduction into high-rate manufacturing environment
Contribute to design reviews acting as an expert in design for manufacturability, design for testability, yield improvements, supplier assessments, quality control, etc
Act as primary point of contact for non-conforming product, troubleshooting, root cause, failure investigations and corrective actions
Lead the initial supply chain development for cable and connector development
Own the design and validation of fixtures, tooling, and new technology that is introduced to the production line
Prepare engineering documentation necessary for the transition from development to production including assembly procedures, test procedures, standard operating procedures, schematic diagrams, bills of materials, suitable alternate parts lists and mechanical drawings
Lead continuous improvement efforts of established production lines and products
Perform structured root cause analysis of in-process failures

Required

Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering
1+ years of experience in design, manufacturing, and/or production of mechanical or electrical hardware systems (internship and collegiate extracurricular engineering project experience will be considered)
Willing to work weekends and extended hours as needed
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Preferred

3+ years of professional experience in high-rate design and/or production of mechanical or electronics hardware systems
Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced iterative design environments
Experience modeling with 3D CAD software such as: NX/Unigraphics, Catia, Solidworks
Basic competency with SQL databases
Demonstrated experience designing tooling in a manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with a passion for continuous improvement
Experience in a fast-paced, iterative design environment within the consumer electronics, mobile handset, medical devices, aerospace, marine or automotive industries
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
