Responsibilities

Lead daily revenue cycle operations including patient access, coding, billing, A/R, denials, and patient financial services
Execute revenue cycle initiatives and priorities established by the Executive Director
Ensure consistent workflows, SOPs, and operational discipline across all clinics and ASCs
Identify operational risks, bottlenecks, and revenue leakage and implement corrective actions
Manage revenue cycle KPIs including A/R days, A/R > 90 days, denial rates, clean claim rates, and cost to collect
Partner with FP&A team to maintain dashboards and operational reporting
Perform root-cause analysis and lead corrective action plans for underperformance
Oversee denials management operations and prevention strategies
Collaborate with coding, compliance, and clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
Support revenue integrity initiatives including audits, underpayment recovery, and modifier compliance
Ensure compliance with CMS, state, federal and payer billing requirements
Serve as an operational owner for revenue cycle systems (e.g., NextGen, Athena, etc.)
Support automation and workflow optimization initiatives led by the Executive Director
Reduce manual processes and improve data accuracy through system enhancements
Lead and develop revenue cycle managers and frontline leaders
Establish performance expectations, accountability, and staff development plans
Support workforce planning and productivity benchmarking using MGMA and HFMA standards

Required

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field
8-10 years of progressive revenue cycle leadership experience in physician practice management, hospitals or health systems
Strong preference for gastroenterology or procedural-based specialties
Demonstrated success improving A/R, denial rates, and cash collections

Preferred

Master's degree (MBA, MHA)
HFMA certification (CRCR, CHFP)
Experience supporting RCM automation initiatives
