They are seeking a Metrology Technician responsible for creating and executing inspection methodologies for electro-mechanical components and subassemblies for their solid state transformers.

Responsibilities
Enable inspection and verification of parts or assemblies using an arm-CMM and conventional hardware (calipers, gauges, etc.)
Create measurement programs using PolyWorks for routine measurements or investigation requests
Provide, check, and analyze data and output reports to assist in quality improvement activities
Coordinate calibration activities, ensure that all test and measurement equipment is calibrated prior to use
Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) best practices across departments
Manage non-conform material identified in inspections
Assist in the identification and resolution of supplier and manufacturing quality issues, contain parts or products as needed, sort parts for quality requirements
Support supplier for corrective action requests, root cause, and implementation of corrective actions and countermeasures
Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities with engineers and external suppliers
Qualification
Required
Must be fluent of the English language, both written and verbal
High school diploma. Skilled trades training or degree in mechanical or quality field, or equivalent demonstrated on-job experience
Experience with metrology equipment programing and measurements
Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings (including GD&T)
Proficient with Polyworks software, point cloud alignments, laser scanning
Previous electro-mechanical inspection background with the ability to use basic hand measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges etc.)
Ability to give presentations and prepare technical reports
Ability to use IT systems such as Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint. Able to manipulate data in Excel and databases such as SQL
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, arm protection, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
