Healthcare Financial Modeling Consultant
MVP Consulting Group is a nationally recognized healthcare consulting firm specializing in regulatory compliance and financial strategy. They are seeking a Healthcare Financial Modeling Consultant to support clients with financial forecasting, scenario modeling, and capital planning specific to behavioral health and psychiatric care delivery systems.
Responsibilities
Financial Forecasting & Pro Formas: Develop short- and long-term financial forecasts for behavioral health programs, new facility launches, and operational expansions
Custom Financial Models: Build dynamic, client-specific Excel-based financial models that incorporate startup costs, FTE planning, payer mix assumptions, and regulatory compliance factors
Scenario & Sensitivity Analysis: Model a variety of operational and financial scenarios to inform strategic planning and risk mitigation
Cost-Benefit & Break-Even Analysis: Support decision-making by identifying financial feasibility of proposed initiatives including site expansions, new service lines, or contract negotiations
Strategic Financial Consultation: Serve as a financial subject matter expert during client engagements, contributing to business plans, regulatory applications, and investor presentations
Revenue Cycle Analysis Support: Collaborate with clinical and compliance consultants to integrate financial models with operational workflows and projected revenue performance
Stakeholder Communication: Present findings and recommendations to client leadership teams with clear, data-driven insights and strategic rationale
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of financial planning and analysis experience, with at least 2 years in healthcare (preferably behavioral health, hospital, or managed care)
Proven experience developing pro formas, startup budgets, and multi-year financial projections for healthcare programs or facilities
Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement models, payer contracting, and regulatory cost structures
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, macros)
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
Preferred
Master's or MBA
Experience with financial planning software or BI tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Adaptive Insights, Tableau, or Power BI)
