Space and Defense Performance Leader - 2nd Shift

Responsibilities
Supervise and manage a team of 15–20 employees in a machine shop setting
Work with the Manufacturing Manager to develop and implement improvement plans (Value Stream or Production Improvement Plans) to achieve high-impact results
Define, track, and measure short- and long-term team goals aligned with organizational strategy
Use established standard work and production documentation to optimize personnel and equipment utilization, workflow, and cost efficiency
Hire, train, evaluate, and develop team members; manage performance and succession/growth opportunities
Proactively address and resolve employee relations issues; administer counseling, discipline, and performance feedback fairly and consistently
Ensure accurate employee time reporting and consistent application of personnel policies
Support safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline with 2 years' machine shop experience OR Associates degree with 4 years' machine shop experience
Minimum 5 years' direct management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong leadership and people-management skills
Effective communication and conflict-resolution abilities
Ability to analyze production metrics and drive corrective actions
Preferred
Experience with lean/manufacturing/process improvement tools
