Responsibilities

Conduct Research with the Uhler Lab and faculty from the Dept. of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in a new state-of-the-art testing facility that includes dedicated space for psychophysical and evoked potential (ABR/EEG) measurements
Conducts comprehensive audiometry (pure tone and speech), middle-ear immittance measures, otoacoustic emissions, auditory evoked potentials; air conduction, bone conduction, electrically evoked responses, hearing aid and cochlear implant fittings, programming, and verification, unaided and aided speech discrimination testing
Amplification fitting, verification and validation
Executes psychoacoustic-based experiments including tonal detection, masking, spectral and temporal resolution, pitch discrimination, etc
Completes data entry, data management and initial data analyses
Participates in data dissemination, assists in development and writing of manuscripts for publication
Assist in writing grants
Maintain and write new research IRB protocols as necessary for the work
Train and supervise junior research associates, students and post-doctoral researchers
Actively recruit subjects across campuses
Oversees calibration including determination of calibration needs and timetables. Completes hands-on calibration in laboratories where calibration is completed within the lab

Ph.D. in Auditory SciencesPediatric audiology experienceColorado audiology licensureComputational skillsResearch design experienceEffective communicationCritical thinkingCreativity

Required

Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Auditory Sciences, Neuroscience or related field
2+ years in pediatric audiology or relevant professional role (e.g., research laboratory)
Colorado state licensure in audiology

Preferred

Previous experience with a demonstrated record of productivity is desired
Computational skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R, etc.)
Experience with research design, development of research hypotheses, and methods to test them
