Responsibilities
Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Safety Engineering and mission assurance
Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
4 years as lead or manager
Experience in developmental programs
Knowledge of safety management system and mission assurance
Preferred
Master's degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Systems Safety Engineering experience
Knowledge of Earn Value Management System
Engineering change process knowledge
5+ years of experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform
3+ years of experience leading multiple parallel development schedules; managing complex integrated schedules or projects
