Responsibilities

Work on continuous wave and multifrequency analysis of a Kongsberg WBTmini, deployed on a Slocum glider
Explore the relationship between acoustic backscatter, optical backscatter, and optical imaging, with a focus on data collected with in-situ AUV systems and airborne, water-penetrating LiDAR systems
Partner with biological oceanographers and optical oceanographers
Make use of state-of-the-art visualization and computing facilities
Participate in associated field efforts which include robotic deployments in the Mid-Atlantic region
Lead first-authored publications

Qualification

Required

Ph.D. in acoustics or oceanography
Demonstrated strengths in large data analysis
Demonstrated strengths in multivariate statistics
Demonstrated strengths in acoustic theory
Demonstrated strengths in ocean science

Experience with Echoview software
