US Sales Lead
Applied Computing is a company that has developed Orbital, a physics-grounded AI copilot for industrial systems. They are seeking a US Sales Lead to build their presence in the North American energy market, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing enterprise deals with major Oil & Gas operators.
Responsibilities
Build outbound pipeline targeting US-based refiners, operators, and energy companies
Identify and engage senior decision-makers: Operations VPs, Digital Transformation leads, CTOs
Qualify opportunities based on technical fit, commercial potential, and deployment readiness
Leverage industry networks, events, and direct outreach to generate opportunities
Lead complex enterprise sales cycles from discovery through close
Navigate multi-stakeholder buying processes across operations, IT, and procurement
Position Orbital's technical differentiation against incumbent solutions and AI competitors
Structure commercial terms that align customer success with Applied Computing's interests
Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand customer data, systems, and use cases
Collaborate with product and engineering to scope deployments and set realistic expectations
Translate customer requirements into proposals that demonstrate clear ROI
Manage proof-of-concept and pilot processes that convert to production contracts
Provide market intelligence on US competitive landscape, pricing, and buyer behaviour
Identify high-potential segments and use cases within the US energy market
Contribute to US market entry strategy and go-to-market planning
Represent Applied Computing at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings
Qualification
Required
10+ years in enterprise software sales with consistent quota attainment
Track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals in the $1M–$5M+ range
Experience selling into Oil & Gas, energy, or heavy industrial sectors
Strong technical discovery skills; able to engage credibly with operations and engineering leaders
Existing network within US energy industry preferred
Based in Houston or willing to relocate; comfortable with significant travel
Preferred
Experience selling AI/ML, analytics, or operational technology solutions
Background in refining, upstream operations, or process industries
Experience as a founding or early sales hire in a new market
Technical degree or deep operational understanding of industrial processes
