Engineering Project Manager - Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC)
The University of Houston is seeking an Engineering Project Manager for the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC), responsible for conducting manufacturing assistance activities under federal contracts. The role involves managing projects, providing consulting services, and training to improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized manufacturers in the Gulf Coast region.

Responsibilities
Provides technical and business consulting services, team building, and training to executives and key employees of manufacturers in the Gulf Coast region, to improve their competitiveness
Prepares and manages technical and budgetary aspects of contracts with manufacturers to ensure the completion of projects within deadlines and budgets
Provides functional supervision to TMAC technical project teams that provide services to customers
Prepares reports of projected outcomes, impact and recommendations; maintains documentation for reporting to state federal agencies
Analyzes project results and evaluates customer satisfaction
Remains current with and obtains training in new manufacturing and business consulting practices
Promotes TMAC and sells projects to meet contract milestones; represents the center at professional conferences and community events
Performs other job-related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline
Basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline
Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed
Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience
Requires professional licensing, certification or registration directly related to the job, as specified on a job description addendum
