Accelerate Change is a nonprofit digital media lab focused on increasing civic engagement within BIPOC and low-income communities. They are seeking a freelance Short-Form Video Editor who understands social media dynamics and can create engaging content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Responsibilities
Edit high-performing short-form videos optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat, and similar platforms
Craft strong opening hooks that immediately capture attention and improve watch time
Apply platform-specific best practices (pacing, captions, formatting, storytelling) to maximize reach and retention
Stay current on trends, formats, sounds, and visual styles across social platforms
Experiment with edits, structures, and visual approaches to test what performs best
Design and implement on-screen text, titles, captions, and visual cues with strong typography and layout instincts
Repurpose and optimize content across multiple platforms while maintaining quality and intent
Collaborate with producers and content leads on ideation, structure, and creative direction for short-form series
Maintain brand consistency while adapting to platform-native aesthetics
Format content correctly for each platform (aspect ratios, lengths, safe zones, captions, etc.)
Work from creative briefs and across multiple partner brand guidelines
Experience with motion graphics or light animation is a plus
